If you are interested in Bass Angling on one of Central Florida's many freshwater lakes and rivers, David "Red" Douglass invites you to browse this website and become familar with his services, then contact him when you're ready to reserve a slot on his calendar.

As a tournament Bass angler, he understands what it takes to prepare and successfully execute the "Art of Bass Angling" in the "Bass Capitol of The World" -- Central Florida.

With 1008 days on the lakes in Central Florida (5/2009) -- Kissimmee Chain and River, Walk-In-Water, Highlands County Lakes, Istokpoga, and occasionally Okeechobee -- since the hurricanes of 2004 and recently during the affects of the One-In-One-Hundred-Year Drought of 2006 - Present, he knows the current challenges created by the weather conditions on the various lakes from Orlando to Okeechobee.

Understanding what it takes to be successful in all conditions as they relate to each individual lake's characteristics, is what motivates "Red" to head out day after day onto the lakes his clients are interested in mastering.

If you are an experienced Bass angler, a Bass tournament angler, or an aspiring Bass angler looking for all the information possible to learn your favorite lake, Dave is willing to offer custom services unique to each customers needs.

Currently Dave works with repeat clients in relation to the lakes they are interested in mastering, to achieve their goals. Whether it's a shared day on the water, a lesson on technique and strategy, advisory assistance for an upcoming tournament, or research by Dave for the customer's specific competition needs requiring him to "Be On Fish", a package plan is available to meet your needs.

Note: You can also use the URL - HighlandsBassAngler.com , which is the NEW NAME I am in the process of changing my business to, or istokpoga.info - which leads to this website. It's easier to remember than a four word hyphenated URL, and the lake which most customers prefer.

Here is a prime example of the average sized Florida Largemouth Bass thriving and ruling Florida's freshwater lakes. Weighing in at 5 pounds, she is the classic typical sized Bass the Bass Angler can expect to set the hook on. From the leasure angler to the pro tournament angler 5 Bass like this one will make your day. With the right information it can be a reality for any angler

If you are interested in fishing instead of angling -- fishermen use live bait such as Shiners, anglers however never do -- I have fishing.guide friends who are very experienced and would be glad to work with you to catch a trophy Bass using live Shiners, so I would be glad to refer you to them.

I am the only strictly artifical bait Bass guide angler in business in this area.

Here is a 13.12 lb Bass -- Note: I am holding the camera with one hand out in front which means I am holding the Bass in back of me to attempt to fit it into the camera frame. Most people hold their fish out in front of them, this one is being held the opposite way. This female was 27.75 inches long and 21.5 inches in girth. I looked for quite a while for someone to take the pic and when I could not, I attempted to do it myself.

An Important Policy: I have caught many very large Bass with my largest pushing 14 pounds. Instead of killing the fish, I opt to take pictures from all angles, record proper measurements and have a replica made from that data. I have never killed a Bass intentionally. The larger the Bass the better the genetics, thus ending such superior genetics defeats the entire purpose of guiding anglers like yourself on Florida's great lake resources.

I provide pictures as part of my guide trip plan and I encourage you to bring your own cameras as well -- although you certainly don't need to subject your camera to the elements -- I'll take care of those concerns for you with quality digital pictures.

NEWS - April 2009 - I am currently working with many Florida freshwater fishery organizations to promote the new coalition of Florida freshwater fishing organizations called, FLFFC. Its new website is http://FLFFC.org .
